Your first visit
About 75 minutes, mostly resting
A first visit has three parts: a conversation, a treatment and a plan. You are in charge the whole time, and you can ask Hattie to stop or to skip any part.
Later visits take about an hour. If you are coming off a night shift, plan a few minutes at the end to wake up slowly before you travel.

What happens, step by step
- 01
Step 1: You arrive
Hattie meets you at the door and shows you the room. There is a short form about how to reach you. Nothing on it asks about your health.
- 02
Step 2: We talk
About 15 minutes about your week, your sleep and what you hope for. Bring your questions.
- 03
Step 3: You rest
You lie on a padded table while the needles stay in place, usually 25 to 35 minutes, with the lamps low.
- 04
Step 4: A plan
Hattie suggests how often to come, as a plan and not a promise. You decide.
What to tell us before we begin
Say any of these when you book or at the start of your visit. Hattie adjusts, or suggests other care.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or might be.
Blood thinners
Or a bleeding disorder, or if you bruise easily.
A pacemaker
Or any implanted device.
Lymph node removal
Needles are not placed on the side of the body where nodes were removed.
Fear of needles
Say so and Hattie will start with acupressure or ear seeds.
What you take
Medicines and anything else you take, so Hattie knows. Never stop a medicine on our account.
What to wear, bring and eat
Wear
Loose clothes with sleeves and legs that roll up. You stay clothed.
Bring
A list of what you take, and your questions. Your phone stays in your bag.
Eat
A light meal beforehand. Come neither hungry nor full.
Plan the trip home
Some people feel sleepy or light-headed. Do not rush off to a long drive.
